My husband and I had a lovely weekend, jam-packed of Brooklyn adventures!! Okay, that is partially a lie…eek!! Saturday, my husband worked the majority of the day, while I was baking for an unplanned dinner event at our place with friends. (I will share my recipe for the Vanilla Cake with Raspberry Buttercream icing tomorrow!!).
Our Sunday was fabulous. Starting with the much talked about and AMAZING Brooklyn Based Wedding Crashers event (previously mentioned here). I took over 100 photos and met so many wonderful and talented people!! I will not post about it today because I will not be able to do the event justice if I attempt to rush the post. And there are a lot of photos to go through
. Needless to say, lots of fabulous information to come on Wednesday
.
Afterwards, we went to the ever so trendy and for good reason, BUTTERMILK CHANNEL!! With items on their menu like pecan pie french toast and their fried pork chop with cheddar waffles, Sunday Brunch has taken on new meaning. And oh yes, the bar has been raised.
We ventured in a little late and we were overjoyed to have been seated so quickly! The hostess was soft-spoken with a warm smile that made you feel as though all your stress would be relieved with a little maple syrup
. And our waitress was so happy, upbeat and delighted to answer all of our questions. And with all of the amazing options WE WILL BE GOING BACK!!
We decided to indulge in:
- the Classic Bloody Mary (with a homemade pickle)
- which was sooooooo good, we ordered a round of PICKLES!!
- the Pecan Pie French Toast – Bourbon, Molasses and Toasted Pecans
- Burger – House Ground Beef, Grilled Onions, New York State Cheddar and Fries
I really wanted to try a homemade jelly donut, but they were all sold out for the day…NEXT TIME!! We shared everything and OMG the french toast was AMAZING!! And the fries were definitely up there with some of the best!
A few items I need to go back and try are the cheddar waffles, eggs huntington, salmon platter and of course the jelly donut
.
Here are a few photos of our brunch at Buttermilk Channel:
Doesn’t that make you hungry?? You can view more photos here on their website and check them out here on Yelp.
Buttermilk Channel is located at 524 Court Street (between Nelson St. and Huntington St.) in Brooklyn, NY (Carroll Gardens).
I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend and that this makes your Monday blues a little tastier
.
